The Process

Here is a detailed description of the activities that you need to do to complete the project.  Remember, even though we are reading about a race, this webquest is not a race.  Be like the turtle in the story, because just as in the story slow and steady wins the race!

1.  Read a version of Aesop's Fable "The Tortoise and The Hare".  You can do this online by clicking HERE!

2.  After reading the story, decide whether you want to research turtles (tortoises) or rabbits (hares).

3.  You will need to find basic information about your animal to fill out your fact sheet, such as where they live (habitat and location), what they eat (diet), what their enemies are (predators), and any interesting facts you can find to complete your fact sheet.    CLICK HERE FOR AN EXAMPLE OF A COMPLETED FACT SHEET!

4.  Click HERE for a blank fact sheet to fill out.  *YOUR ANIMAL MUST BE A TURTLE OR A RABBIT!

6.  Print out the fact sheet and fill it out.  *For help printing click HERE!

7.  After completing the fact sheet hand in to the teacher.

8.  Next print out the timeline worksheet that can be accessed HERE!  For help printing click HERE!

9.  Fill out the timeline worksheet and hand it in to the teacher.

10. Now print out the math worksheet that relates to the story HERE!  For help printing click HERE!

11. Complete the math worksheet and hand the worksheet into the teacher.

12. Now select a coloring page HERE and print it out.  For help printing click HERE!

13. Color quietly and wait until all of your classmates have completed the assignments.
