Evaluation

Each group will be evaluated on member participation, creativity, and successful completion of the poster and letter.  In addition, all students will fill out a peer evaluation slip following each group's presentation. (This slip may be printed by clicking the link at the bottom of the page.) Students will be evaluated as a group, not individually; therefore, every member of each group will receive a common grade for this project.

Group Participation

 

Group members were not productive and showed poor collaboration skills.  Time was poorly managed.

One or two students dominated the group work.  Group members had difficulty collaborating and managing time effectively.

Group members had some difficulty working together, but managed to complete the project satisfactorily.

Exceptional! Group members cooperated productively and managed time well.  Each member contributed to the project.

 

 

Poster

 

 

Poster is not appealing and lacks pertinent information.

Poster is visually appealing but contains minimal information.

Poster is less appealing and demonstrates most, but not all, of the assigned information.

Poster is visually appealing and demonstrates the collection of all required information.

 

 

Essay

 

 

Essay is disorganized and incoherent.

Essay has several grammatical and typographical errors and shows few signs of critical thought.

Essay has minor grammatical errors and shows some signs of critical thought.

Essay is grammatically correct and demonstrates a higher level of critical thought.

 

 

Presentation

 

Student contributed little or no information to the presentation and the group failed to meet the time requirement.

Student contributed some information to the presentation.

Student contributed meaningful information to presentation but was unable to stay within the time limit.

Student contributed meaningful information to presentation and stayed within the time limit.
